Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police stated they were alerted by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to solve the case" and have appealed to the public for details.

A high-ranking official stated the vandalism made him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.

"This event affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, mentioning the death of nine people by a shooter aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
